More To Come After Every Race...

April 3rd Peoria speedway - Don Bohlander race

The whole TomCats Racing Team was at Peoria speedway on April 3rd for the Don Bohlander race.

Skyler Meyer was there in his hornet #4s. Which was his first race in this car and in his career he drew the pole of heat one. Lead the first lap and then drop back to 6th spot and that’s were he finish in the heat. Not bad for the first race of his career. TomCats racing is very proud of his hard work on the track even though he was sick the whole day, how he stuck in there and give it all he had. Congrats to Skyler Meyer in the 4s with a good start to the year many more night are sure to come for this man.

Tom Alexander was also there in his #5tb street stock. He had a great night for not being in a race car for more than 20 years. Started 2nd in his heat and finished 6th in heat one. We tried to fix his steering in the pits but did not have the time to get it the way Tom would like it so he went to A-Main with it still being really loose but he did great in the A-main he started 12th in the main and finished 8th. What a great start for Tom in the 2010 season. We expect a lot more from Tom more and more as the season goes on.

Chris Kilpatrick and his #3 street stocks had another hard break on the track Saturday night he started 6th in the same heat as Tom Alexander. Chris and his #3 street stock made 3 laps and had to pull off in the infield what a tuff way to start off the year. After the heat was done the push truck pushed Chris and his #3 street stock back to the pits for the crew to start working on the car. They come to find out the tranny was gone and the night was over for the #3 car. Just to put this out there Friday April 2nd was Chris's 24th birthday happy birthday Chris better luck next week.

April 10th Peoria Speedway

Skyler Meyer Was in heat 2 in 6th place had to go to a semi main event to make it to the A-Main on the last lap Skyler hit the wall coming out of turn 4 and took the #4s out for the rest of the year but he is looking for a new car. Best of luck on the next race.

Thomas Alexander Finished 4th in his heat and did not go to the A-Main do to Skyler's bad crash.

Chris Kilpatrick Finished 5th in the same heat as Tom and also did not race the A-Main do to his brother Skyler bad crash.

May 1st Fairbury

Tom and Chris race in Fairbury this week had a rough night. Tom was running well till he had to pull off the track do to the frontend of his car. He Brock his sway bar and lost all steering. Chris had a hard night car did not want to run right at first had to pull off after the first lap in the heat race, he started 19th in the main and they hot the car on the right note he started passing cars then noticed that he was over heating so he had to pull off the track and fished 18th..

May 7, 8, 14, 15 and 21

Did not race due to weather...

May 22nd Fairbury

Its fan Appreciation night at the track in Fairbury. We had a lot of friends and family there at track to cheer TomCats racing on. The say started with some bad luck. We started to load the cars at 1p.m. or so only car we had to load was Tom’s #5TB on the trailer and we were ready to head to the track. When we were in middle of loading the car, we broke the rear top sway bars on both sides. So our good friend Matt was there to save us. We took the parts off the stock car and he welded the pieces back together. So we got the car loaded and we were on our way to the track. We got to the track about 4p.m. and we unloaded the cars. Chris and Tom went to the pit house to sign in their cars. Tom drew 24th place and Chris drew 14th place. There were 31 street stocks at the track that night. We had four heats top four made it to the A main. Chris started 2nd in heat 4 and tow was right behind him in 4th spot. While racing in heat 4 we were coming around turn 4 and take the green flag Chris and Tom slam the gas to the floor and takes off. But then coming back around turn 4 the yellow comes out, the leader jumped the gun on the start. So we had to do a restart. So once again we came around turn 4 and this time Chris and Tom put the pedal to the metal and they were gone. Chris was the leading the way with tom in 4th. With three laps to go, Chris had to pull off had a tranny leak. Tom was still in 4th place just getting ready to take 3rd and on the final lap when Tom was where he needed to be to make it to the feature the right rear tire blew out of nowhere and broke the sway bar again. But this time it was in a different stop. Everyone was trying to help get the car ready so Tom could go back out and race but no one had what he needed so it was night over for both Chris and Tom. They did great and all of us fans now it will just better for the guys. We do want to say thank you very much to who all came out and watch us and cheered us on that night. And want to say Great Job guys.

Skyler (#4s hornet): Chris brought his bother Skyler #4s a car to make it in to a hornet for him so he can get back on the track and race. Skyler can’t wait to be able to get back out there and they all have been working hard on his car trying to get it ready as fast as possible. It is almost done and he should be back out on the track this next weekend. If he is not out then he will for sure be running the hornet special in Fairbury on June 6th.

May 29th Fairbury

We recently lost our aunt Jody due to brain cancer. So we put a gray ribbon and her name on all the cars. We are also dedicating the rest of our race season to Jody. She was one of our biggest fans. She loved to hear and see all about the races. Fairbury was even nice enough to have a moment of silence for her. So a big thank you to Fairbury crew. <?

Skyler Meyer 4s:  He is still itching to get back out on the track to race. He ran into a dead end on his car. So he is trying to sell it so he can move up to street stock with his dad (Thomas Alexander 5tb) and his brother (Chris Kilpatrick 3k). They are all trying there hardest to sell or part out his old car so he can get a street stock and get back out on the race track as soon as possible. Tom and Chris do not like racing without Skyler and they all know the fans can’t wait to see him back out there on the track. So we are all hoping he will be back out there on the track soon. We all wish you luck Skyler!!!

Thomas Alexander 5tb:  Tom started ninth place in heat two out of ten cars. During the heat race Tom got into it with another car. Witch made his bumper on the front come completely off. Sense he lost the bar that held the bumper on, it made it look like it was coming completely off the ground. Tom also blew a tire from where he and the other driver came together. Witch made him have to pull off the track. He got tenth place out of ten cars. But he still made it to the semi. He started 14th last place in the semi sense he had to pull off in the heat. He did great in the semi till the eighth lap his rear end snapped right in half. So he got his car back to the pits to find it was done for the night. So he finished 8th in the semi. He jumped up six spots before he was done for the night. Tom has a lot to do to the car to have it ready for the next race. Tom you did a great a job tonight hope you can get the car fixed and back out next weekend. Great job Tom.

Chris Kilpatrick 3k:  Chris started 8th out of ten cars in heat one. He was doing great keeping up with everyone. Until all the sudden he lost his steering and kept spinning out on the corners. So he pulled off into the infield and shut the car down. So when the head was over he got the car back to the pits and they couldn’t figure out what happen to the steering. So he was going to try running the semi. But when he got in the car to go out for the semi his car wouldn’t start. To come to find out the starter was gone. He was going to start 7th in the semi but sense the starter went out, he got 11th place in the semi. It was bad luck for the 3k car. But they did get the tranny running right and it did the best it has. Hope you also get your car fixed for the next weekend of racing. Great job Chris.

June 4, 5, 11, 12, and 18th

Cancelled due to weather - Weather is winning this year for sure...

June 19th LaSalle Speedway

Tonight was the first night ever going to LaSalle speedway! We all loved it out there. Were also thinking about making it our new home track. When we first got there we were not sure we were going to be able to race but the nice crew at LaSalle let us try it to see how we liked it. So thank you very much to the crew and owners out there at LaSalle speedway. We will be seeing them all again. Tom’s youngest son Parker Alexander the only son not racing went back in the pits with the guys. He was a big help back there and he loved it. Also tonight was the first night Chris’s one year old daughter Hailey went to the races. She sat in the stands with us girls. We were wondering how she would do but she loved it. She would get so mad and yell when there were no cars on the track. But by the end of the night she pooped out on us with just one race to go. We all enjoyed her being there with us. Her big brother Caidyn liked it the most I think. We all hope to take her too many more races. It was nice for Tom to have both his grand babies there and nice for Chris to have both his kids there at the race for father’s day. Happy father’s day Tom, Chris, and soon to be dad Skyler. <?

Skyler Meyer 4s: This poor man still doesn’t have a car to race. But he is in the pits with Tom and Chris every single race helping them every way possible. If Chris or Tom break something on the cars or just need something worked on Skyler is there to help every time. So a big thank you to Skyler the guys wouldn’t know what to do without you. We can’t wait to see you back out on the track! Happy father’s day Skyler!!!

Thomas Alexander 5tb:  Tom started 8th in heat two. He did great he was keeping right up with the pack and passing people. He was doing a great job till all the sudden right before the checkered flag he thought he blew a tire. So he got it back to the pits to find he didn’t blow a tire. But the rear end spring came out of where it needs to be. So Tom, Chris, Skyler and Parker worked on it and they got it to go back in and fixed it in about 20 mints. He still finished 8th place in the heat. Tome started 16th place in the feature. He was still keeping up with the pack and passing. Then on lap 13 of 15, Tom hit the wall sideways with his right rear corner panel. Hitting the wall made him blow a tire so he got the car back to the pits once again. But he did a great job racing there at LaSalle tonight. Great job Tom and happy father’s day!!!

Chris Kilpatrick 3k: Chris needed to start in heat 1 but he got up there late. So they let him start in heat 2 in last place. He was also doing a great job with keeping up with the pack and passing. All the sudden he spun out and when he did his battery went flying out from where it was throwing sparks everywhere in the car, even by the fuel cell so he pulled into the infield right away. When he pulled into the infield he lost all power from the battery witch made him finish in last place. But great move Chris we don’t need you blowing up. So he got it back to the pits and put the spare battery in it. So he started 21st in the feature. On the 1st lap he spun out so they did a complete restart. Then he got up to the pack and started passing where he was somewhere in the top 10.l then on the final lap he lost his steering once again and spun out so he pulled off. It made him finish 16th out of 22 cars. When he got back to the pits they still couldn’t figure out what was wrong with his steering. So the night was over for the 3k car. He got to looking at the car more that Monday and found the power steering hose was broke at the connecter. So we got it fixed and we hope now the steering is fixed. Great job and happy father’s day Chris!!!

Jully 3 LaSalle Speedway

We are so lucky to have Chris Kilpatrick 3k still with us. Earlier this week he was working on his cousins car and the car fell of the jack while he was still under it. Thank god his brother Skyler and his wife Monica was there. They got the car off him and got him out from under it. He went to the ER. He had to stay one night in the hospital so they could monitor him. He was released the next day back to normal actives. So he decided he was going to still race. Everyone tried talking him out of it and to take the weekend off but he is just to stubborn. But he did promise his wife that if he started to hurt on the track he would pull off and let his brother Skyler 4s finish the night for him. He did fine though and raced the whole night. There was a lot of friends and family that came to cheer the team on this week. So we would like to think them all for coming out and cheering us on. Chris we all are glad that you are ok and just hope that you will be getting better soon. Take it easy!!!
Skyler is waiting to till he can find the right car at the right price. We all hope it is soon. But he was still there helping in the pits. Also if Chris wended up not caring because it was hurting him to bad Skyler was going to take over for the rest of the night for him. Skyler we all hope you find a car soon and can get back out on the track. both tom and Chris went out to the track to pack the track. Chris pulls off early to look at his rear-end and get it ready for heat races. tom pulls off from packing the track and wanted to hot lap the car to see how the car is running with the rear-end set up and blew off the disturber cap off the car and fired the coil. Ralph jumped in his car and was on his way  to the parts store to get a new coil for Tom and made it back in time for the heat races.
Tom Alexander 5tb
Tom started 9th in heat race two and finished in 7th. Tom started 16th in the A-main and got into it with another car. Then right after the caution he blew the right rear tire and pulled off with two laps to go. Tom finished 16th place just were he started. Great job Tom keep up the good work…
Chris Kilpatrick 3k
Chris started 3rd in heat number 1 and finished in 7th place. He had to much air in the rear tires witch made the car not want to turn right. Chris started 15th in the A-main, he made 3 laps around the track and went to low and spun out. The car would not re fire when he tired. The starter hung up and started on fire. He got out of the car as fast as he could and he didn’t get hurt. But he ended up finishing 17th place.
Great job Chris keep up the good work…

July 10th Macomb IL, Spring Creek Speedway

We went to Spring Creek Speedway for the night. It was our first night there. Tom Alexander was the only one racing today because it was for his 42nd birthday. It was a gift from TomCats Racing. Chris Kilpatrick 3k and Skyler Meyer 4s took the night off to help celebrate their dad’s birthday. Tom Alexander had a good night of racing, this is what happens. We got there at 6p.m. and he went out for hot laps, with a late model and the late model couldn’t catch him. Tom started 1st in his heat and was doing a great job. On the 4th lap he blew a tire. So he headed back to the pits to change his tire. Then he started 12th out of 13th in the feature. Tom finished 7th place. He did a great job for it being the 1st time at the track. I hope you had a good birthday Tom. We will all see you next week.
